The Palestinian National Authority-Overview
The Palestinian Authority (PA) is the administrative entity formed in order to gover most parts of the West Bank and all of the Gaza Strip. It was formed as a consequence of the Oslo Accords between Israel and the Palestinian Liberation Organiazaion (PLO).
The intended time frame for the PA was 5 years but as of today a final status (permanent status) has not been achieved.
Judicial control over criminal, civil and security matters are divided among Israel and the PA.
Its administrative centere are Ramallah and Gaza City and population is estimated to be around 3,900,000. Its GDP (PPP) is around $3,900.
